Silica Stones are man made. They are manufactured and packaged in the United States using a heat process and patented ground glass. The glass is high in silica, a known essential element for growing healthy vigorous and robust plants. Because Silica Stones are made from high quality glass it is pH stable and resistant to the corrosive effects of hydroponic plant foods. The patented glass process forms thousand of bubbles that break and create small pockets on the surface of the Silica Stones. This in turn increases the surface area, which is twice that of red clay type pellets made in Europe and Asia! You will find they outperform any other similar hydroponic medium.

Silica Stones are perfect for NFT and Ebb & Flow hydroponic systems. Silica Stones may be mixed with other growing mediums such as rockwool, perlite, vermiculite, and soil to alter drainage, improve aeration and aide in root development.
